Secure for
Society™
A standards-led digital trust initiative from the Modern Digital Innovation Foundation — building cyber safety, AI awareness and digital resilience for citizens, schools and institutions across India.
What is Secure for Society
Digital trust, built on open standards
Secure for Society™ is MDIF's framework for a safer digital India. It sets clear, published criteria for digital safety, keeps a transparent public registry, and runs on-the-ground awareness so protection reaches every community — not just the well-resourced.
Standards and the public registry are published by the certification body at secureforsociety.org, kept deliberately separate from commercial issuing at secureforsociety.com — so trust stays independent of commerce.

What it covers
Six framework domains
Every Secure for Society activity, toolkit and certification maps to one of six domains — a common language for what "digitally safe" actually means.
Cyber Safety
Fraud, phishing, OTP/UPI and account-takeover protection for everyday users.
AI Awareness
Recognising deepfakes, scams and AI-driven manipulation — and using AI responsibly.
Digital Literacy
Foundational skills so first-time internet users can transact and learn with confidence.
Privacy
Data-protection practice aligned with India's DPDP framework and user rights.
Fraud Prevention
Rapid awareness, reporting pathways and escalation to the 1930 cyber helpline.
Responsible Tech
Ethical, inclusive and sustainable technology that serves communities and the planet.
Three pillars
How the initiative works
Frameworks & Criteria
Open, published standards that define digital-safety expectations for schools, institutions and services.
